Latest Update

Forums and Player Menu
After a couple of days of testing, I've now introduced a forums part and a new Player Menu. I've also updated the House Rules section with information on Feats and Skills, and my campaign now approaches 3.5 rules. All user accounts have also been enabled again.

The forums contain an open section where anyone can view posts and all registered users can submit new posts, and a player section where only registered players can view and post new content. The player menu is only available to registered players (obviously) and gives them game information from each session, npcs encountered and places of interest.

Elf siblings Naethien Rhuiden and Yidhra Rhuiden sets out from their home village looking for adventure and money.

Yidhra Rhuiden, an elf rogue, lives at home with her parents in the small thorp of Thornton's Demise. Trained by her uncle to be a rogue (much to her parents' dismay), she soon gets bored by the quiet life in the thorp. When she one day overhears her uncle talking about 'some fella' in Astwick (a coastal village two days travel away) coming upon some money, she decides to leave home and rob the man.

Her brother, the reclusive ranger Naethien, likes it just fine in the local forest where he trains under an older elf ranger. Through his master, Naethien has developed a tense relationship to humans, and he does not look forward to travelling amongst their kind. But his sense of protection for his sister comes first, and he grudgingly accepts to join her on her travels. His master, upon hearing of his apprentice's plans, gives him a pouch of money for which he requests some special item to be aquired.

The two leave home and enjoy an uneventful day of travelling through the open country. As the nightfall nears, they come upon a small forest and can see a campfire in the distance. They sneak through the forest, and as they come close to the fire they hear two nervous men discussing the sounds of the forest (and two not-so-quiet elves). While Naethien draws weapon and plans to attack, Yidhra insists on a more peaceful approach and walks up to the camp introducing herself. In spite of her efforts, the two young men are scared senseless and runs into the woods screaming. Obviously not a threat, the elves ignore the two humans and settle down at their campsite. After searching the site for valuables with no luck, the elves settle in for the night, taking turns to keep watch.

As morning erupts, Yidhra hears the two youngsters approaching carefully and yells to them that there is nothing to be afraid of and to come forward. Hesitantly, the two comply and eventually sits down and shares breakfast with the elves. The two humans are very young and unarmed, and after some questioning it becomes clear that they have run away from home (although they present it as looking for adventure). They also tell that they were robbed  by a lone bandit shortly after leaving Astwick, and give the elves the location of the ambush. In a surprisingly kind gesture to the two humans, Naethien builds them a simple shelter in which they can wait while the two of them hunts down the bandit.

The site of the ambush was on the other side of the forest, so Naethien and Yidhra decides to sneak through the woods in an attempt to outflank the bandit. They eventually come upon a foul, smelly man loudly enjoying a large meatbone and they successfully sneak up behind him. While Naethien keeps the bandit covered with his longbow, Yidhra jumps out and points a dagger to the man's throat. The foul bandit is so shocked and intimidated that he chokes on his meal and is easily subdued. Going through his possessions they find some coinage and a beautiful black box.

The bandit admits to stealing the box from the two kids, but hasn't been able to open it. After leaving the bandit tied up (but loosely, so he'll be able to free himself after a while) they decide to open the box before returning to the boys. Yidhra pulls out her brand new lock picks, and twenty minutes later the box finally opens, revealing... papers. Although written in Arelian, the elves are unable to fully comprehend the papers. They do however understand it to be some kind of legal papers regarding land areas, and decides to keep them in case they are valuable.

After filling the box with dry leaves, they return to the two runaways and demand to know where they got the box from. One of the boys claim it is his and that he has inherited it, but some interrogation and intimidation later he admits to stealing the box from his father before running away. The two elves come up with a plan to make the most of the situation, and propose to bring the boys and the box back to their father claiming that the bandit had stolen the box and the boys had followed him to get it back. The two elf heroes had then come upon the situation as the boys were losing the fight against the mighty bandit and saved them and the box. This proposition will not only get the boys out of trouble, but also in all probability bring rewards to the heroic elves.

They give the boys some time to think, while they draw back where they cannot be seen and unlock the box once again. They place the papers back in the box, and return to the boys who after thinking of the possible outcomes agree to travel back home with the elves.

And thus endeth the first session.
